Beal High School was expanded from 8FE to 12FE (a total of 840 additional student places), making it one of the largest schools in Redbridge, East London. The school campus was given new life with the addition of new general and specialised teaching spaces, a learning resource centre, an assembly hall, and sports hall.
The building was on Green Belt and CR1 Land, and required negotiations and approvals from the London Assembly and Sports England.
A new entrance off the A1400 Woodford Avenue (total of £1m) was negotiated and agreed with Transport for London (TfL).
As Project Manager and Contract Administrator, Fred led the project from inception, working with the local authority to obtain planning permission, negotiated with Sports England, and TfL to gain access into the site off the A1400. Fred led the Competitive Dialogue tender process to select a successful builder, and led the project to completion, managing the contract, consultants, end user, and contractor on site.
